To change the icon/thumbnail of a bookmark on the n900; edit the "~/.bookmarks/MyBookmarks.xml". Along with every entry there is line pointing to a thumbnail-image in the "~/.bookmarks/thumbnails/" directory, create your own icon and point at it from the xml-file.
